BCAM's Annual General Meeting, held on September 26th, combined business with a lighter tone. After approval of the agenda, reading of the minutes of the 2005 AGM, and reports from the president and the various committees, elections to the Board of Directors took place. For 2006-2007, the officers are: Carol Secter, President; Susan Hertzberg, Vice-President; Janine O'Leary Cobb, Secretary; Terrye Perlman, Treasurer; and board members, Rose Alper, Avis Antel, Christine Kupka and Carole Summers. We were pleased that BCAM founder, Sharon Batt, visiting from Halifax, could attend.

Janine was thanked for her outstanding work as president for the past two years and was presented with a plaque — a spoof newspaper article — a collaborative effort by Carol Secter and Gerry Goodfriend. After a short discussion of movement building, and of BCAM's place in the environmental and breast cancer movements, the group adjourned for dinner at the Toucheh Restaurant.
